Be part of a diverse community.

African Science Academy is a diverse community of gifted young women from across Africa and a supportive team of staff. All ASA students board at the school and with small class sizes, ASA feels like a family.

We also provide students with healthy and nutritious food throughout their time at ASA. We regularly hold ‘international days’ which allow students from the various countries across Africa to introduce their fellow students to their culture and cuisine.

Enjoy a range of extra-curricular activities.

The school is located in the quiet community of Tema, just outside of Accra. Alongside dormitories, students have access to a library, study centre, social and sports spaces.

We provide a wide range of extra-curricular activities, with a strong focus on creative problem solving and excellent communication skills. Activities include: computer programming, sports, entrepreneur club, debating and chess. Students also are encouraged to set up their own clubs and societies within the school.

Hear from high-profile guest speakers.

Our students hear from and have access to a range of high-profile speakers at our weekly guest speaker series. Through our speaker series we aim to inspire our students to become innovative leaders who will go on to transform the continent.  Speakers have included leading academics, entrepreneurs, politicians, authors and executives from around the world.

“ASA is one of the most impressive academies I have ever visited. The outstanding potential of the students and the deep commitment of all the staff to values of excellence, diversity and inclusion mean ASA is well on its journey to realise its ambitious vision to be the leading school in Africa for gifted young women scientists”
